Jennifer and David Roggenkamp of St. Mary's announce the birth of their new baby boy at 11:20 p.m. Aug. 15 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. They have named him Brayden John. He weighed in at 9 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 21 inches long. Grandparents in this area are Johnny and Jackie Schwinn, great-grandparents are Dwane and Joann Monroe and Evelyn Schwinn. Great-great-grandmother is Opal Welch.
The Church Board of Springdale Friends Church met Aug. 17 for a pot luck supper at the home of Kevin and Dyla Lawrence to discuss pastor search and other church business. Fill-in minister on Sunday, Aug. 19, was Dan Thew.

Hallmarks of Leavenworth is celebrating its 60th anniversary year in Leavenworth with a buffet dinner Aug. 23, and Kirk Knapp, who has been employed for 19 years working there, attended the occasion.
Holly Evert, daughter of Joy and Tyler Evert was recognized on Sunday, Aug. 19, at Springdale Friends Church for the purple ribbon and plaques she received at the county fair for her sewing. Luke and Emily Cole were recognized for awards on their rabbits. We are proud of our youths.
Wayne and Anabel Knapp attended a birthday party for Kathy and Sam Smith at their home Saturday evening, Aug. 18. There were 30 members and friends attending. They attend United Methodist Church at McLouth. A lovely pot luck supper was given with a beautiful cake made for them. They bought the farm of Pete Edmonds. It was a very enjoyable evening.
Austin Knapp stayed with his grandparents, Wayne and Anabel Knapp, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday while his dad, Kirk, caught up on yard mowing.
