McLouth happenings

By Staff | Dec 12, 2007

McLouth High School wishes to honor our local veterans of World War II who answered the call to serve this country, prior to obtaining a high school diploma from McLouth, by presenting them with their high school diplomas at the 2008 high school commencement ceremony in May. Please let the high school principal, Mike Bogard, know if you are a World War II veteran, or if you have a family member, friend, or know of a World War II veteran from McLouth who would like to receive this honor. Please call (913) 796-2201, or e-mail Mr. Bogard at bogardm@ mclouth.org with any contact information.

The McLouth High School Blues Orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at in the Gold Gym.

Community Oriented Reverence and Evangelism (C.O.R.E.) is a tremendous new ministry designed for young Christians in senior high and young adults. Services include live praise and worship music, special speakers, refreshments, and other fun activities. Meetings will be from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the McLouth Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, Dec. 15, and Saturday, Dec. 29. (The dates were changed, to avoid conflicting with the Benefit Concert for Heidi.) Everyone is welcome. The goal of C.O.R.E. is to provide young people with the opportunity to develop a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. For further information, please call: (913) 796-6290.

McLouth Church of the Nazarene welcomes you to join them in the Celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. The children’s Christmas program, “The Sounds and Signs of Christmas,” will be during morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16. That evening, the choir will present its Christmas Cantata at 6, followed by a time of refreshments and singing of Christmas carols.

McLouth Friendship Club’s covered-dish Christmas luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at the Community Center. Please bring food to share and your table service. In the spirit of Christmas, rather than a “gift exchange,” you may bring a can of food for the Food Bank. Adults over 50 are welcome.
