McLouth cagers open ‘07 schedule
The McLouth High boys will seek a second consecutive win Friday when Jefferson County North comes to town, while the MHS girls will look to get back in the win column.
The MHS boys enter the game with a 3-2 record after winning in an overtime game against St. Marys last month in the team's final game before winter break. The McLouth girls, meanwhile, fell to St. Marys the same night and enter Friday's action with a 2-3 record.
This will be the first Delaware Valley League game for each of the McLouth squads.
The JCN boys are 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the DVL, while the Charger girls are 2-4 overall and 0-1 in league play. Both teams fell to Kansas City Christian in conference play.
Both Bulldog squads will travel Tuesday to take on Wathena and then Jan. 12 to Topeka to take on Cair Paravel. The McLouth boys then will return home for the McLouth Invitational Tournament, Jan. 16-20. The girls won't be playing in a tournament that week, but will play at home Jan. 18 against Kickapoo Nation. From Jan. 23 to Jan. 27, however, the Bulldogs will be playing at the Jefferson County North Tournament.
Heading into the new year, the McLouth boys are in third place in the DVL, with Kansas City Christian leading the conference with a 4-1 overall record and 1-0 mark in league play.
On the girls side, MHS is in sixth place, with KC Christian again at the top of the list. The Panthers are 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the DVL.
