Obituary: Charles F. Fay Jr.

A Mass of Christian burial for Charles F. Fay Jr., 81, Olathe, was Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Kansas City, Kan. Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Fay died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at the Homestead in Olathe.
He was born in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Charles and Mabel J. Fay.
Mr. Fay was a 1943 graduate of Bishop Ward High School. He also attended Kansas City Kansas Junior College.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Fay retired in 1983 as deputy chief of the Kansas City, Kan. Fire Department. He was a former president of Local No. 64 International Association of Fire Fighters
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine A. Fay, in 1994.
Other survivors include his daughters, Janet Gripka, Tonganoxie, and Joyce Bacon, Olathe; his sister, Margaret Fay, Leawood; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
