Family members from across the country traveled this past weekend to the Tonganoxie area to celebrate Harry Benoist Davis’ 92nd birthday, which is today.

Mass of Christian Burial for Edward “Ed” William Grey, 40, of Kansas City, Mo., will be at 10:30 a.m. today, May 2, 2007, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 94th Street and State Avenue, Kansas City, Kan. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Members of the Jaunty Jarbalonians, a Red Hat Society chapter, made a trip April 21 to the Moon Marble Company in Bonner Springs. After watching a hand-blown glass marble being made, the Jaunty Jarbalonians made several purchases from the large supply of marbles, games and other interesting items. The group then went to eat at the Jet Fuel Cafe.

I know I’m behind the times, and people have been doing it for years. I’ve heard them talking about “making a Sam’s run” and “getting the best deal at Sam’s,” but until recently, I had never been there myself. I’m talking, of course, about Sam’s Club — a big warehouse where all of your shopping dreams come true — at least if you want whatever you want in mass quantities.
