McLouth Happenings

Megan Howerton is McLouth High School's Student of the Month for April. Megan, a senior, is the daughter of Becky and David Davis. She plans to attend Pittsburg State University and major in nursing. This award is sponsored by the McLouth Kiwanis, honoring students who have exhibited outstanding citizenship and scholarship.

Elementary Bike Rodeo (kindergarten through fifth grade) will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the McLouth Elementary School playground. Bring your bike and wear your helmet. First 50 youngsters completing the safety course will receive a new helmet. Sponsored by McLouth's Parent Teacher Organization.

American Legion Auxiliary No. 393 will sponsor its annual Bake Sale and Luncheon at the Community Center. The bake sale opens at 9 a.m. Saturday. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Proceeds from their fundraisers remain in the McLouth community, distributed to scholarship winners and Girls State delegates.

The McLouth High School Alumni Banquet will be Saturday in theurple (North) Gym. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. All graduating seniors, alumni and faculty (past and present) are welcome. Tickets: $8 per couple; $5 single, for all classes except 2007 graduating class. Please bring a covered dish to share.

The following are important activities to attend. Note the time of day for these events:

  • McLouth High School Awards Assembly: 2:30 p.m. May 17 in the MHS auditorium.
  • Senior Awards Night: 7 p.m. May 17 in the auditorium
  • McLouth Middle School Awards Assembly: 8:30 a.m. May 18 in the auditorium.
  • McLouth High School Commencement: 11 a.m. May 19 at the Stan Braksick Sports Complex (in case of inclement weather: Purple Gym)
  • Middle School Promotion: 7 p.m. May 22 in the Purple Gym.
