KVL Football Report: Week 10
Football season is officially over for schools in the Kaw Valley League.
Six KVL teams advanced to the playoffs, and of the four in Class 4A who competed Tuesday, only Basehor-Linwood survived. The Bobcats stunned Eudora, 13-8, in what was easily the biggest upset out of the bidistrict matchups. Perry-Lecompton lost a tough 22-21 contest to Marysville, and Bishop Ward was routed by Baldwin, 41-7. In Class 2A action, Immaculata was pounded by St. Marys, 44-0.
In 5A action, both Bonner Springs and Lansing were bounced in regional action. The Braves were trampled by St. Thomas Aquinas, 44-14, and Lansing was ousted in a tooth-and-nail battle that was decided in the final seconds. Gardner scored a touchdown with 20 seconds left, and LHS had a score called back for holding with no time on the clock in a 21-14 loss.
On Saturday, Basehor was back in action in a 4A regional contest with Holton, and the Wildcats ripped the Bobcats, 38-0.
