KVL Football Report: Week Eight

By Chris Wristen - | Oct 20, 2007

So far, three Kaw Valley League football teams are playoff-bound, but a few more are likely to follow after next week’s games.

Basehor-Linwood, Perry-Lecompton and Bonner Springs all are 2-0 in district play and have won by a large enough margin to secure a home in the next round. Meanwhile, Lansing High and Mill Valley are very close to joining them. Lansing is 2-0 in its district and looks to wrap up a district title on Friday against Schlagle. Meanwhile, Mill Valley upset Bishop Miege last week before falling to Aquinas this week. With a likely victory against Harmon looming on Friday, the Jaguars also would be playoff-bound.

A few other schools still are holding on to hope, but face must-win situations Friday along with some additional help. Those teams are Immaculata, Piper and Bishop Ward.
