Cleon A. Shore

Services for Cleon A. Shore, 79, Leavenworth, were Saturday, Oct. 27, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Burial was in Hubbel Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Shore died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at his home.

He was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Hillsboro, Wis., the son of Amasa and Ivah (Kopenhafer) Shore.

Mr. Shore retired in 1982 after working 30 years for General Motors in Kansas City, Kan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Leavenworth and United Auto Workers Local 31 of Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. Shore enjoyed raising cattle, riding horses and taking long walks over his acreage. He was a crackerjack mechanic and was something of an inventor.

He married Martha Schaefer on Oct. 15, 1955, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Carl, Surprise, Ariz., and Clifford, Edgerton, Mo.; a daughter, Carolyn McCaffree, Haysville; and three brothers, Orval, Danville, Ark., Charles, Burnett, Wis., and Paul, Milton Wis.
