McLouth Happenings

McLouth United Methodist Church will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a worship service at 11 a.m., and an open house at 2 p.m., Sunday. After the worship service, prior to the celebration, the Youth Fellowship will provide a spaghetti dinner at 12:15 p.m. Cost of the dinner is by donation. Come and share in the fun and fellowship. All who have ever been part of the ministry and history of the church are invited.

The library’s calendar of events is filling up faster than a downspout with fall leaves. We have invited graphic novel expert and Basehor Community Library’s teen services librarian, Amy Schaffer, to be the guest speaker at our Tuesday, Oct. 2, Tonganoxie Library Teens meeting at 7 p.m. To kick-off Teen Read Week, we have local author Lisa Harkrader scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the library.

A Tonganoxie High School junior was in fair condition Tuesday in a Kansas City, Mo., hospital after being involved in a two-vehicle accident last week in Lawrence.
