McLouth council presents speaker

At 7 p.m. April 15, the McLouth Secondary Site Council will present a speaker in the McLouth High School Auditorium.

Lisa Ellis, a social worker from Stormont-Vail in Topeka, will address the issue of bullying and harassment. She will discuss definitions, characteristics, and myths regarding bullying as well as strategies to cope with those that bully and harass.

The topic of cyber bullying will also be addressed. This presentation is offered free of charge to students, parents, teachers, and community members. This presentation is in response to Kansas House Bill 2310 enacted to address the issue of bullying in public schools.

Lisa Ellis provides individual and family treatment with patients and their families as well as community collaboration. She has earned degrees at the bachelor and master level in areas of foster care, developmental and physical disabilities, as well as older adults. In her clinical practice, Ms. Ellis works closely with the child and family to provide concrete parenting education and support.
