Aaron, Beth Hecht Carl and Lane of Springdale area left Thursday March 13 for Kentucky to meet with Beth's family for a reunion. They all stayed in a large cottage. Others joining them were Beth's folks George and Terry Lair, Beth's sister's family Jim and Diana Kane and children, Abigail, Thomas, and Joseph of Virginia, Beth's brother Chuck. They all went to Kentucky Horse Park, this is where horses are trained for the Kentucky Derby. They went on a hike and toured a cave. They all returned to their homes on Wednesday March 19.
Mary Hecht of Kansas City, Aaron Hecht's mother, hosted an Easter dinner at her home for her family, Sunday March 16. Others attending were Mark, Dennis and Tim Hecht and their families. Sisters Jeanette and Christy and families. They had an Easter egg hunt in the afternoon.
Kirk, Chris Knapp and Austin and Syd North hosted a dinner for Easter at their Valley Falls home Sunday March 23, also celebrated Kirks birthday. Others attending were Melody and Monty Lines, grandma Dea Bayless, Monty's sister, Debbie Lines and friend Bill Schonover and Wayne and Anabel Knapp.
Austin Knapp spent Wednesday and Thursday March 19 and 20 nights with his grandpa and grandma Knapp. He was on spring break from school.
The Ladies of Springdale Friends Church have received an invitation to a Spring Tea at High Prairie church April 17.
The men of the church are working on their plans for the Pancake Sausage supper to be April 4, starting at 7 p.m. The community is invited.
Richard and Wanda Parker enjoyed some of their out-of-the-area family, who came to spend the Spring Break with them.
Danny and Linda Schwinn entertained with a family Easter dinner at their home on Sunday March 23.
Evelyn Schwinn had Easter dinner with Peggy, Ed and Drew Gillaspie on Sunday March 23. Others there were Jenna, Jeff and Isabella Gillaspie and Greg, Mario and Amber Gillaspie. The little ones had an egg hunt.
Ray and Jeannette Cole, Luke and Emily had Easter dinner at Bill and Carol Cole's home. Ray Cole celebrated his 37th birthday on March 26.
Brian and Linda Schwinn and family spent Easter with Carol Daniels, Linda's mother, and other family.
Wayne and Anabel Knapp, and John and Cora Moses attended the 45th Annual Meeting and Supper at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday March 25, at the administration building in the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds. Dinner was served by the Livewires 4H Club. It was a delicious meal. Around 130 people attended.
Shaun and Mary Heston, along with their children Newt and Samantha flew to Hawaii for a week-long vacation on Monday March 10, and arrived home Sunday March 16. Mary is the daughter of John and Cora Moses. All the family had a great time.
