Our view: Celebrate safely as ‘08 turns to ‘09
Soon we’ll be saying goodbye to 2008 and hello to 2009. When the final sands of the hourglass for 2008 head downward Wednesday night, folks likely will be toasting with champagne and other beverages and embracing friends and loved ones with the words “Happy New Year” being repeated often at midnight.
In that moment, not everyone will be toasting champagne. Some will be toasting with non-alcoholic beverages. Others might be content to greet 2009 a few hours later by going to bed at at a normal hour and bypassing the hoopla altogether.
If you're planning on the first option, be sure to celebrate safely. Feel free to ring in the new year with a bang, but be sure, if you’re out and about, to be careful and use good judgment.
In the new year, it’s hoped that we’ll be writing out lists of resolutions and working hard toward making those resolutions a reality in the next 12 months.
Again, be sure to celebrate safely this New Year’s. We want you to safely make it to 2009 so we all can achieve those resolutions — or at least attempt to accomplish those goals.
