The Tonganoxie School District has a new administrator.

The school board, in a special meeting Monday, approved the hiring of Kyle Hayden, who was superintendent at Ellis. Hayden is a 1990 graduate of Sabetha High School and attended Fort Hays State University before finishing his degree at Tabor College in Hillsboro. He also holds a master’s degree in education administration from Emporia State University.

Hayden, who will be paid $90,000, was selected from four finalists, all of whom interviewed Monday.

Other finalists were: Tim Marshall, superintendent at Jefferson County North; Jean Rush, McLouth superintendent; and Michael Maurer, principal at Haysville Middle School.
