By Staff Reports - | May 2, 2008

? The Providence St. John Foundation is offering eight scholarships, totaling more than $13,000, to the public.

“We always have a need for highly qualified health care professionals at Providence and St. John,” says Mary Ellen Clark, Foundation executive vice president. “By awarding these scholarships, we hope to attract the best and brightest students to one day care for our patients.”

Providence and St. John Human Resources director Nancy Bodenner adds that the scholarships are an important recruiting tool for the hospitals. “Well-qualified nurses and other health care staff are in more demand than ever before,” Bodenner says. “These scholarships help us interest students in careers at Providence or St. John who are committed to our mission and share our core values of respect, response to need, stewardship, wholeness and excellence.”
