McLouth volleyball picks up road wins

The MHS volleyball team played in two triangulars this past week, going 2-2 in the process.

On Thursday, the Bulldogs traveled to Atchison, where they defeated the host school in two games, 25-21 and 31-29. They fell to Basehor-Linwood in three games, 20-25, 25-22 and 16-25.

Kylie Shufflebager led MHS (9-6 overall, 3-3 Delaware Valley League) with 31 kills on Thursday. Coach Erika Houk praised Courtney Chilcoat for her consistent serving ability and said libero Logan Terry recorded 26 digs and was constantly setting up her teammates with perfect passes.

Earlier in the week, MHS traveled to Jackson Heights, where it defeated the home team in two games but lost to Jefferson County North in two on Sept. 16.
