Springdale news

John and Cora Moses attended the Hutchinson Fair the week of Sept. 10, and arrived home on Sept. 14. Esther, Nathan Gardner and children and Mary and Shawn Hesston and children also attended. They took their rabbits and did well.

Jeff Gillaspie and Isabella were visiting their grandmother Evelyn Schwinn on Friday, Sept. 12.

Evelyn Schwinn enjoyed lunch on Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Pullman Place in Leavenworth with Ray and Jeanette Cole, Luke and Emily. Luke had just turned 10 and was celebrating.

Evelyn Schwinn and Sharon Lynn were visiting their brother Harold Steel at Edwardsville on Sept. 17.

The large amount of rain in the week of Sept. 13 caused flooding along old Stranger Creek and has turned the grass as green as spring.

Wayne and Anabel Knapp attended the spaghetti dinner Sunday, Sept. 14, put on by McLouth United Methodist Church. Around 85 attended.

Kirk and Austin Knapp and a friend, William of Valley Falls, had dinner on Saturday with Kirk's parents, Wayne and Anabel Knapp.

The Springdale community would like to extend its sympathy to the Barnett family in the loss of Connie Barnett.

Cara Kruid and Lorala were visiting Anabel Knapp on Monday and the new baby John Marcus came along.

Anabel Knapp was visiting Wednesday at the Carl and Barb Slaughter home and Bob Nobel home.
