McLouth softball sweeps Oskaloosa

The McLouth High softball team improved to 4-0 on Monday with a sweep of visiting rival Oskaloosa.

The Bulldogs won the first game, 6-0, and rolled in the second contest, 15-0.

Through four games, MHS has outscored its opponents, 51-0.

In the first victory, senior pitcher Lezley Lawson threw four innings and struck out eight Oskaloosa batters. Kaley Patterson then relieved Lawson for the final three innings.

At the plate, Lawson went 3-for-3 in the win. Missy Rome was 2-for-2 and Jessie Troupe went 3-for-3.

Lawson entered the circle again for the second win and struck out six batters in a three-inning, mercy-rule victory.

Offensively, Kendall Patterson was 3-for-3, Lawson went 2-for-3, Rome was 2-for-3 and Kaitlyn Sparks had three hits and four RBI.

McLouth is home again on Thursday when the Bulldogs play host to Pleasant Ridge at 4:30 p.m.
