Jim and Jean Murry of Leavenworth, as well as Pat and Jeannie Murry of Gardner, visited Jean Murry of Leavenworth. After going to Granite City at The Legends, the Murrys enjoyed visiting at Jean’s home. Pat and Jeannie have moved to Gardner while awaiting completion of a new home they are building.
Dave and Jane Turner played host to a cookout Saturday for members of the Santa Fe Trail Leather Artists Guild. Several members were in attendance and Jane said they all ate too much but had a good time. Dave and Jane have several pieces of their leather work on display at area leather shops.
A picnic was held Thursday at Jarbalo Methodist Church as a wrap-up to the Vacation Bible School that was held earlier in the week. Rev. Larry Grove said they had a great time and that the Bible school was a success again this year.
Those visiting Thamar Barnett on Saturday were Rhianon Mooberry and Madison of Leavenworth. On Sunday, Ron and Peachez Joles stopped in for a short visit.
Bid Sheppard said she was visited last week by Charles and Connie Sheppard of Shawnee, who then took Bid and Kahtleen Powers to dinner at Kelley’s Grill and Bar in Basehor. According to Bid, Monday night is the night to dine at Kelley’s. We agree that it’s a good dining experience without fighting the crowds at The Legends.
