McLouth Happenings

August 26, 2009

John Sanders thanks friends and family for cards, phone calls, greetings and visits in celebration of his 85th birthday.

• Enjoy the demolition derby at 7 p.m. Saturday on McLouth’s Threshing Bee Grounds.

• Middle School Student Ministries group (for teens in sixth through eighth grades) will begin meeting from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday evenings at First Baptist Church of McLouth beginning Sept. 2. All middle school students are invited for a time of fun, fellowship and Bible study. Special events, activities, lock-ins, and service opportunities are planned by the students throughout the year.

• The First Baptist Church of McLouth will begin its third year of Awana clubs for kids. Games, team competitions, Bible study, scripture memorization and music are planned for kids preschool (children who will enter kindergarten in the fall of 2010 or 2011) through 5th grade. The clubs begin Wednesday, Sept. 2 and run 6:30-8 p.m. each Wednesday. Youths can join one of the following clubs: Cubbies for preschoolers; Sparks for kindergarten through second grade; and Truth and Training for third- through fifth-graders. Weekly Awana club meetings begin with an opening ceremony, followed by an active game time. Handbook time allows kids to interact with leaders as they study and achieve in Bible study, memorization and activities. Large group time includes songs, announcements, awards and stories. All children in the community are invited. For pre-registration and additional information, call the church office: (913) 796-6263.
