Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger had lunch with Eugene and Edna Sawyer in Atchison recently.
Dale and Joan Dunlap and grandson, Bradon, visited Bid Sheppard on Wednesday morning.
The Jarbalo United Methodist Women held their monthly meeting Wednesday afternoon at the church. President Marilyn Oxley opened the meeting asking Rev. Larry Grove to give a prayer.
Thirty-four care calls were reported by eight members answering roll call. There was discussion and plans made for the pancake supper, which will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 13.
Plans were started for a spring tea to be held in June. Rosie Oelschlaeger presented some ideas for the event. Oelschlaeger gave the program was called Spring in Your Step.
Oelschlaeger was hostess and provided refreshments to Marilyn Oxley, Bid Sheppard, Frances Jeannin, Gladys Steffen, Thamar Barnett, Faye Cleavinger and Pastor Larry Grove.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, March 11. Peachez Joles will be the hostess and program leader.
Davy Turner and Sydney were guests of David and Jane Turner for lunch Sunday.
Julia Carter of Iola brought Shianne to stay with her father, Jeff Carter, in Leavenworth for a while. Thursday night, Julia stayed with Thamar Barnett and went to the funeral of Jeff’s aunt on Friday. She returned to Iola on Friday afternoon.
Bid Sheppard had a call from Charlie Daniels of Lancaster, Calif., one day last week. He is a former resident of this area.
