McLouth splits with Jackson Heights

Junior McLouth High guard Missy Rome scored 28 points to lead the Bulldogs girls basketball team to a 61-36 victory over visiting Jackson Heights on Tuesday.

Rome made nine field goals and went 10-for-11 from the free-throw line.

MHS (9-10) got 10 points from junior forward Cassidy Bristol, and eight points apiece from Morgan Drinnon and Kylie Shufflebarger.

The McLouth boys lost to Jackson Heights, 53-48.

Senior Bulldogs forward Derrick Crouse led MHS with 19 points and junior point guard Cole Batman was right behind him with 18.

McLouth (2-17) had a two-point lead after one quarter and trailed by one at the half but Jackson Heights got some separation in the third when it outscored MHS 15-10.

The McLouth teams close their regular-season schedules on Friday at Doniphan West.
