The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Leavenworth, Wyandotte and Johnson counties for this afternoon. A winter weather advisory beginning at 3 p.m. is in effect for Douglas County.

Light flurries are expected to turn into heavier snowfall overnight, then expected to end by noon Tuesday.

Total accumulations are expected to be between 2 and 4 inches along and south of I-70, with localized areas of heavier snowfall, the weather service said.

Snow is also expected north of the Kansas Turnpike, but no accumulation predictions were available.
