Yates headed to match play championship

Tonganoxie High golfer Colby Yates qualified on June 30 for the Kansas Amateur Match Play Championship by shooting 75 in a qualifying round at Falcon Lakes Golf Course in Basehor.
A rising THS sophomore, Yates will compete in 36 holes of stroke play July 28 and 29 at the Kansas City Country Club in Mission Hills. The low 64 players from those two days advance to a single-elimination match play bracket.
