Jane and David Turner and Tim and Kelly Kouns went out for dinner on Saturday. The Kounses are from Leavenworth.

Jane and David also took granddaughter Sydney Turner of McLouth on a school shopping spree Saturday. Sydney is the daughter of Dave and Tracey Turner of McLouth. She will be starting the first grade in the McLouth School System.

Kathy Stimac and Mary Lynch of Leavenworth had dinner Saturday at The Legends and then looked at houses in the Tonganoxie area. Mary and her husband, Mick, are thinking of moving from Leavenworth to this area.

Shawn and Steve Johnson and Brody had guests from out of town this weekend. The Johnsons live on what is known as the Old Somers Farm. Steve’s brother, Mark, and his daughter Megan stayed the weekend to assist with the demolition of the original farmhouse on the farm. Steve’s father has also been assisting with this project. According to Johnsons, they don’t make them like they used to and it is a huge job taking the old house down.

Kathy Stimac visited with Brian and Julie Stoner on Sunday.

Addie Heim, daughter of Sandra and H.B. Heim, was married on July 25 to Kirk Rodell of Tonganoxie. Kirk is the son of Don and Nancy Rodell of Tonganoxie. The couple will live in Manhattan while Kirk finishes college. Addie is employed in Manhattan as a nurse. Grandmother Virginia Murphy played host to out of town visitors for the event, including Tracie Butler and family of New Jersey and Mr. and Mrs. Todd Butler of Seattle. Lots of other friends and relatives enjoyed dinner and some out-of-town guests are still visiting in the area.

Ray and Melva Morgan, Lynn Leimkuhler, Christine Black and Gail and Steve Fitzwater visited this week with Thamar Barnett.
