McLouth Happenings

Bob and Alfreda Ryan attended the graduation of their granddaughter, Megan Ryan Mance, from the University of St. Mary, Leavenworth, on May 9. Megan received a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and minor degrees in both criminology and coaching. The family celebrated at Megan’s graduation party.

• Bob and Alfreda Ryan attended Alfreda’s 60-year class reunion, held May 9, at the McLouth United Methodist Church. Ten members of the class were present. Later that evening, they attended the McLouth Alumni Banquet.

• American Legion Auxiliary No. 393 thanks everyone who supported their luncheon and bake sale. They will present three scholarships this year.

• “Hometown Foods” grocery store in McLouth has set up a box for donations for the Food Pantry at the McLouth Church of the Nazarene. The Nazarene food pantry is open by appointment from 6 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday evening. Please call the church office at (913) 796-6290 to make an appointment. The Nazarene food pantry is here to serve everyone in our community, and those in need from Oskaloosa, Tonganoxie, and Winchester.

• Fowler Cemetery and Wildhorse Cemetery will hold Memorial Services this Sunday. Please note the times. Fowler: 1 p.m.; and Wildhorse: 2:30 p.m. Services at McLouth Cemetery will be at 11 a.m. on Memorial Day.
