Jarbalo Jottings

Many people from the area attended the funerals of two local men last week. The funeral of Ralph Norris was Nov. 10 and he was buried in Fall Creek Cemetery, as was David Foster, whose funeral was Wednesday, Nov. 11. Friends and relatives of the Foster family met at Jarbalo United Methodist Church for a dinner. Women from the church were there to serve them.

Jarbalo United Methodist Women met Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Santa Fe Depot ,where they had a meeting and ate dinner. Six members answered roll call and reported 36 care calls.

Members there were Frances Jeannin, Peachez Joles, Bid Sheppard, Marilyn Oxley, Rosie Oelschlaeger and Thamar Barnett. Guests were Lynn Heskett, of Moran, and Christine Black.

David and Jane Turner went to Branson, Mo., several days last week.

Thamar Barnett visited Wanda Benson and Bid Sheppard on Friday.

Tim and Diona Kowalewski, of Leavenworth, visited Bid Sheppard on Sunday afternoon.

Tamara Miller, Hannah and Ava enjoyed a pizza supper with Virginia Murphy on Sunday. They are from Bonner Springs. Others there were H.B. and Sandra Heim.

Kara Clark and daughter, Anniston, of Clinton, Mo., visited H.B. and Sandra Heim Friday and Saturday.

Sandra Heim, Virginia Murphy and Frances Jeannin went to the 80th birthday celebration for Margie Himpel on Sunday afternoon at the Villas Clubhouse in Tonganoxie.
