James and Betty Lawrence, of Leavenworth, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary starting at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of their son, Jim Lawrence, in Springdale.

Ed and Peggy Gillaspie, Evelyn Schwinn and Wayne and Anabel Knapp attended the hamburger fry Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Easton Methodist Church. A very large crowd attended.

A chicken noodle dinner was served Oct. 11 after church at the United Methodist Church in McLouth. Wayne and Anabel Knapp’s adult Sunday school class played host to the event. A very large crowd attended.

Brian and Linda K. Schwinn visited Evelyn Schwinn on Oct. 9. Jeff and Jenna Gillaspie and girls visited Oct. 10. Donald Coffin visited by phone Oct. 13.

Jeanette Cole and Evelyn Schwinn visited Melvin and Sharon Lynn on Oct. 12 in Leavenworth. They then enjoyed lunch at Ten Penny’s with Sharon Lynn.

Shirley Abernathy visited Evelyn Schwinn on Oct. 13. She had lunch in Leavenworth with some Hallmark retirees whom she had worked with through the years.

Linda Hailey was a Monday afternoon visitor of Anabel Knapp’s Oct. 12.

Joyce and Kenny Webb played host to a birthday party Oct. 10 at their home in Shawnee Mission for Valerie and Darryl Lafferty for 50 years of birthdays and 30 years of marriage. Valerie and Darryl are the same age. They are the daughters of L.J. and Gertrude Chrisman, of Springdale.
