THS soccer beats Atchison — again
October 21, 2009
A night removed from edging Atchison in Tonganoxie, the Chieftains soccer team rolled the familiar foe in Atchison on Tuesday night, 4-1.
Tonganoxie High beat Atchison at home by a score of 1-0 on Monday but did even better on the road.
Joseph Parrino, Jake Willis, Mitch DeHoff and Matt Titterington scored goals for the Chieftains (6-8-2).
Atchison’s only goal against THS freshman goalkeeper Keaton Truesdell, who played just his second full game manning the net this season, came on a penalty kick in the first half.
Tonganoxie entered Monday’s home match as the No. 9 seed in its region while Atchison was No. 3 but with two straight wins, THS is certainly proving what the team’s players were saying after Monday’s victory: this team is better than its record.
The Chieftains won three straight matches to end the regular season and will find out Saturday who they will play in the first round of the playoffs early next week.

Do you travel on Labor Day weekend?
Some years we travel and some years we don’t. This year we decided to hang out at home…we went as far as Basehor to hang out with friends and to CommunityAmerica Ballpark for a T-Bones game.
