Letter to the editor: Good Shepherd appreciates support

By Staff | Oct 28, 2009

To the editor:

We want to thank all of our local citizens who patronize the Good Shepherd Thrift Shop.

Through your support of shopping and donations we are able to strive toward our mission to serve our neighbors in their time of need. We are seeing many new families each week who are facing financial difficulties.

Everyone is welcome to shop and enjoy the bargains at the Thrift Shop. All of our merchandise comes from your donations. Everyone who works at the Thrift Shop is a volunteer. This assures that we can turn all of our revenue back to those who need our help.

We ask you to bring your donations to the Thrift Shop when our store is open. And, please bring only usable items worthy for sale. Some items may not be usable by the Thrift Shop because of limited storage or an excess of similar items, which then need to be hauled away as trash. If items are left outside, they may be damaged by the weather or vandalized, making them unusable and will then have to be hauled away as trash, creating an expense for the Thrift Shop, thus reducing assistance for individuals in need. We are open from 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays. We are closed on Thursdays and Sundays.

Thank you for your continued support!
