KVL football report: Week Three
And then there was one.
Thanks to Basehor-Linwood’s heartbreaker loss at Mill Valley and Turner’s convincing 27-7 rout of previously unbeaten Bishop Ward, the Golden Bears are the lone undefeated football team in the Kaw Valley League after three weeks of play.
The Bears, a Class 5A state quarterfinalist in 2008 after a 1-5 start to the season, continue to ride the wave of success which they created at the end of last year.
They also have positioned themselves as the team to beat in the league this season.
Of course, Turner’s hot streak will be tested again this week where an angry Basehor-Linwood awaits. Basehor piled up 89 points in its first two games of the season before being slowed down by Mill Valley.
