KVL football report: Week Four

By Staff | Sep 28, 2009

The Kaw Valley League standings were shaken up once again Friday as Basehor-Linwood handed Turner its first loss of the season, 26-13. In doing so, the Bobcats put themselves back into the KVL championship race.

Meanwhile, Mill Valley built off of its 17-14 thriller against BLHS a week ago by throttling Bonner Springs, 42-6. The Jaguars now have played themselves back into the league race entering their week-five showdown with Turner.

Piper’s Jasper Sanders ran wild for the Pirates, amassing almost 400 yards on the ground against Sumner Academy in a non-league game, and Bishop Ward kept in the title hunt with a 48-29 drubbing of Lansing.

A week after playing its first conference game of the season, Tonganoxie again faced a non-league foe and cruised past Wyandotte, 35-18. THS is the lone unbeaten team in the KVL at 1-0, but the Chieftains will be tested in district play when they have to take on Piper, Bishop Ward and Basehor-Linwood.
