Lansing BBQ contest has new locale this year
Participants in the Sixth Annual Brew, Blues, & Bar-B-Q in Lansing will be smoking up meats in a new location when the festival takes place later this spring.
The festival will be Friday, April 30, and runs through Saturday, May 1, at a new location: Eisenhower Crossing near the intersection of DeSoto Road and Eisenhower Road in Lansing. Parking is available at Eisenhower Crossing and the Eisenhower Medical Plaza.
This year’s event will feature the Kansas City Blues band Trampled Under Foot (7 p.m. Friday) along with Southern Reign (11 a.m. Saturday).
There will be food and beverage vendors available on Friday and Saturday.
Thirty barbeque teams are scheduled to participate in the competition. A People’s Choice event (open to the public) will also take place on Saturday.
The 2010 Lansing DAZE Festival will take place on Saturday, May 1, and features a variety of family-friendly activities. The Festival will feature a craft show, car show (sponsored by the Lansing Lions), children’s inflatable rides, art show, quilt show (featuring nearly 100 quilts), and a pancake breakfast (sponsored by the Lansing Kiwanis.) The children’s inflatable rides will be available Friday evening.
