Aunt Norie’s Sewing Room
Need a lift, need a laugh, or perhaps have a homebound friend who does?
This email I received has created a lot of fun and laughter for many by now, I suppose — one of those “the farther it goes, the funnier it gets.”
It began with and from an orthopedic surgeon who gives us no name but obviously has a great sense of humor.
The surgeon says: “This will confuse your mind and you will keep trying it over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot.”
You can’t. He says it’s preprogrammed in your brain.
I think it’s even a cute little break for one who has to set in front of that computer all day.
The exercise: As you sit there, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with your right foot.
Now while doing this, draw the number six in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction.
There’s nothing you can do about it, try as you might.
Sounds really stupid doesn’t it? You’ll find yourself trying again and again.
Oh well. It’s a bit of a break maybe, fun when you get kids doing it. And for someone sitting alone in his or her wheelchair, maybe that’s what it’s all about.
As Barbara Johnson says in her book, “Splashes of Joy”: “Our five senses are incomplete without the sixth — a sense of humor.”
Hugs now, and God bless.
