Randy and Amy Schwinn and children, Dave and Julie Zule and children, Rick Schwinn, Clayton Riechter, Danny and Linda Schwinn and Evelyn Schwinn went to Atchison to Cedar Ridge Saturday evening, Feb. 6 for dinner in honor of Danny’s 59th birthday.

Pastor Bill Gritton and family were called away to attend the funeral of a friend in Georgia. So the Rev. Bill Nowlan of our area filled the pulpit on Sunday, Feb. 7 at Springdale Friends Church.

Jeanette Cole and Luke and Evelyn Schwinn had lunch on Sunday, Feb. 7 at Pullman Place in Leavenworth and had a nice visit with Marilyn Kay Parsons, who was enjoying lunch, too. She used to live out in the Springdale area.

Tom Powell of the Springdale area had the misfortune of falling and breaking his ankle on Feb. 2 at his home. He had surgery on Tuesday, Feb. 9. He was just getting over his other ankle and walking on it.

The United Methodist Church of McLouth started bringing cans of soup for the Super Bowl. Final countdown was Sunday, Feb. 7 for all members of church taking part. The final was over 3,000 cans of soup collected. It will go to Topeka to the Food Pantry for the Hungry.
