Tonganoxie Civic Club blood drive is today

Tonganoxie Civic Club is teaming up with Community Blood Center for a blood drive.
The blood drive will be 2-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19 at the Tonganoxie VFW Hall, 910 E. First St.
To make an appointment, go online at esavealifenow.org and use sponsor code “tonganoxie” when registering. Donors also can contact Dick Dean at (913) 845-2164. One donation can help as many as two local hospital patients. Community Blood Center must collect at least 580 pints of blood every day to meet the needs of the area.

What’s the best way to spend a snow day?
Shovel your driveway and paths, check neighbors’ driveways and then grab all your closest little ones and find the biggest sledding hill. Snowmen also are a must. Snow days are a great time to catch up on missed shows and much-needed rest. I love snowdays, they haven’t changed one bit even as an adult, although I am sure not all working adults can say that, but I am happy I can. I was excited to see the snowmen and other snow sculptures throughout the Lawrence and Kansas City metro areas.
