McLouth Happenings

McLouth’s 10th annual community social to “Celebrate Our Freedom” will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of the McLouth Church of the Nazarene. Veterans, active-duty military service men and women, and all community servants will be honored. If you have loved ones serving overseas, please bring pictures for display and their APO address. Community CARE packages will be collected to send service men and women overseas. Bring a covered dish to share.

• McLouth Friendship Club’s covered dish luncheon will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Community Center. All adults over 50 are welcome. Bring a covered dish and table service. The Jefferson County Services Organization vehicle (with limited seating) is available to residents within a one-mile radius of McLouth. For reservations, call Charlotte Robinson at: (913) 796-6798.

• Deadline to register for the primary election is Monday. Are you registered to vote? If not, contact your courthouse. The primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 3.
