Jarbalo jottings

March 10, 2010

Don’t forget the pancake supper at Jarbalo United Methodist Church Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Fall Creek Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Alexandria Township Fire Station in Springdale. If you are a member please try to attend. There were not enough people there last year to hold a meeting.

Daylight savings time starts at 2 a.m. Sunday. It’s time to spring forward one hour.

David and Jane Turner went to Centropolis Saturday for the monthly meeting of Santa Fe Trail Leather Artists Guild.

LaVera Aufdemberge and Mike Kroll took Bid Sheppard to Annie’s Opry as a birthday gift.

I visited Jennie Coffin Sunday afternoon. On the way there I returned a tam to Robert Klinkenberg. The Livewires 4-H Club had borrowed it for a float at the Leavenworth County Fair Parade in August 1976.

The theme was for the bicentennial. The float had an airplane built by Eddie Seuser representing Charles Lindbergh’s plane and two boys played the parts of Lindbergh and a Frenchman, as Lindbergh landed in France. The Frenchman wore the tam. Robert got the tam when in high school band. Is nearly 34 years too long to keep a borrowed item? I would say so.
