Jarbolo Jottings

By Thamar Barnett - | Mar 17, 2010

Thanks to everyone who helped make the pancake supper at Jarbalo United Methodist Church a success Friday.

Jarbalo United Methodist Women had the group’s monthly meeting Wednesday, March 10. President Marilyn Oxley called the meeting to order and gave a prayer. Roll was called with five members reporting 49 care calls.

An invitation to a tea from High Prairie Church was read. The tea is 1 p.m. Thursday, April 15. A thank-you note from Brenda Davids was read. In the letter, the group was thanked for contributions it made to her schooling at seminary.

Rosie Oelshlaeger had the program and gave a talk on “What’s in your purse,” connecting each item with scripture.

The group set up tables and chairs and got other things ready for the pancake supper.

Rosie served refreshments to members Frances Jeannin, Marilyn Oxley, Faye Cleavinger and Thamar Barnett.

The next meeting will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 at the home of Bid Sheppard. She will be hostess and program leader.

Michelle and Isaac Heskett of Moran are spending spring break with David and Jane Turner and Thamar Barnett. They will be working on their leather projects for 4-H with the Turners.

Not enough people attended the Fall Creek Cemetery Corporation meeting Saturday in Springdale to do official business so there will be a meeting in conjunction with a clean-up time at the cemetery.

This will be announced in the near future so watch for it and try to attend even if you are not able to help with the clean-up.
