By Mirror Staff Reports - | Oct 8, 2010

Cross country runners from Tonganoxie High and McLouth competed Thursday at the Pleasant Ridge Invitational.

Chieftains junior Patrick Rachford was the top local finisher, placing third in the boys race with a time of 17:33.

THS senior Alex Hauk finished 13th in the girls race.

McLouth’s top performers were Derek Wright (15th) and Emily Welsh (29th).

Tonganoxie’s boys took second place in the team standings after having three runners — Rachford, Caleb Himpel and Dalton Harrington — place in the top 14.

The THS girls finished fourth.

Neither the McLouth boys nor girls had enough runners to compete for a team title.

Tonganoxie’s next race is the Kaw Valley League Meet. It begins at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Wyandotte County Park in Bonner Springs.
