Tonganoxie’s new Reading Recovery program last week received a $10,000 scholarship to help fund training for the district’s Reading Recovery teacher, Deniece Wakeman. (Tammie George, assistant principal at the Tonganoxie Elementary School, said there were only 10 scholarships given in the United States.)
