Beatty Field going pink for breast cancer awareness

By Staff | Oct 19, 2010

Tonganoxie and Basehor-Linwood fans will be going pink at Friday’s football game in Tonganoxie.

Everyone is asked to wear pink to the THS vs. Basehor-Linwood game that night as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Members of Tonganoxie’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America are leading the Tonganoxie effort as a community service project.

Pink T-shirts emblazoned with the THS “T” logo have been sold for the event.

Proceeds from T-shirt and ribbon sales will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Team Tongie. The Tonganoxie FCCLA chapter will be selling pink cotton candy at the game as well.

Basehor-Linwood also is participating in the event and is raising money for breast cancer awareness.
