Bulldogs blast Immaculata for 1st ‘W’
After struggling the first two weeks on the road, the McLouth High football team recovered nicely in its home opener on Friday to earn its first win of the season in a 37-0 rout of Immaculata.
Offense wasn’t a problem for the Bulldogs (1-2), particularly because of the success of their ground game, which featured two 100-yard rushers. MHS junior running back Alex Courtney led the way, gaining 155 yards on 21 carries and scoring three touchdowns. Junior Shawn Dailey, meanwhile, had 12 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown.
There wasn’t much need for McLouth to throw the ball but sophomore quarterback Marc Walbridge completed four of his seven pass attempts for 47 yards and a score.
Walbridge’s passing touchdown came on a 42-yard reception by senior Trevor Roberts.
The Bulldogs are back on the road this week with a 7 p.m. game at Sunrise Academy (1-3), in Bel Aire.
