McLouth Happenings

August 23, 2011

McLouth United Methodist Church’s homemade ice cream social fellowship will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday. The community is invited. Bring some ice cream and/or toppings and join the fun.

Plans are under way for the antique and classic tractor ride to benefit Jefferson County Historical Society and the Jefferson County 4-H Scholarship Fund, which will be Friday, Sept. 16. All makes and models will parade about 30 miles from the McLouth Threshing Bee grounds, and tour to Winchester, visit the Battle of Hickory Point, and enjoy lunch at historic Old Jefferson Town, served by members of the Jefferson County Historical Society and the Jefferson County Petticoat Council in their Vintage Apparel.

Pre-registration must be received by Sept. 1, to ensure T-shirt availability. Drivers pay a registration fee of $30 and are encouraged to bring additional donations for the benefit organizations. Mid-ride refreshments, complimentary lunch and a T-shirt will be provided. Additional meal tickets ($7) and T-shirts ($10) are available. Please contact Charles Luse at (913) 774-2759 or email Mary Luse at with any questions.
