Letter: Library staff commended for work during director search
To the editor:
Thank you to the Magnificent Seven, an open letter to the staff of the Tonganoxie Public Library.
When Royce Kitts resigned as our director in June we knew we would need to rely on you to fill the gap until we could select and hire a new director. And you did not disappoint us.
Everyone, including patrons and board members, noticed how smoothly the library continues to run.
Rhonda McReynolds, you were asked to serve as interim director until a new director was hired. You have done a fabulous job.
Linda Hancock, as the library’s financial officer, you have continued to care for our monetary tasks very smoothly.
Our circulation clerks: Alice DeMoss, Howard Fields, Mary Pawlowski and Christine Weber. You four are our first line of contact with our patrons. You always put a pleasant face on our library. Business as usual for the “World’s Nicest Library.”
Julianne Newberry, doubling as our children’s librarian and cataloger, had a landmark summer reading program, which exceeded all expectations and went off without a hitch.
Jim Morey, as adult program coordinator, you offered a wide range of interesting programs which were well-received.
The board of the Tonganoxie Library wants to thank all for a job well done.
We know the transition to our new director, Kelly Fann, will go smoothly into our next 100 years, or so.
Kara Reed, president; Laurence Hill, vice president; Amanda Altenhofen, treasurer; Carol Sorensen, secretary; David Frese, Sheryl Harman and Earleta Morey,
