THS team competes in Quest academic challenge at Washburn University
A team from Tonganoxie High was one of 52 squads that took part in the Super Saturday qualifying event of the Quest High School Academic Competition on Dec. 3 at Washburn University in Topeka.
The contest allows teams of high school students from across Kansas to compete against one another in answering questions on topics such as math, science, art, literature and history.
Teams earning the top 16 scores advanced to the televised finals and will return to Topeka several times for taping sessions. The televised games will air on KTWU from February through May 2012, when the champion will be named. More information is available at washburn.edu/quest. Though THS competed in the event, it did not make the top 16.
The contest is co-sponsored by the KTWU-PBS station, Washburn University, the Learning Quest 529 Education Savings Program and Security Benefit. The Kansas National Education Association provides substantial support for the production of Quest TV games, which are produced by KTWU and Washburn University.
