God Called You Home
By Mike Vestal
Today we come to celebrate the life of Nora May.
She touched our lives in so many ways.
She was as much my mom as she was my friend.
It stayed that way until the very end…
I admired her so much for the kindness she showed.
She always treated me like one of her own.
She was the gentlest woman I’d ever met.
No one here will ever forget.
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.
I little knew that morning. God was going to call your name,
in life I loved you dearly, and in death I do the same.
It broke my heart to loose you; you did not go alone,
for part of me went with you, the day God called you home.
