Republican group leader takes donations to Reading
The president of the Leavenworth County Republican Women group traveled to the town of Reading earlier this month to take donations from group members and help with cleanup efforts in the wake of the tornado that struck the town on May 21.
Sabrina Valenta, president of the group, and her husband, Richard Valenta, both traveled to the Lyon County city June 3, where they met Senator Pat Roberts, who was visiting to survey the damage.
Valenta said the residents of Reading were still in need of donations and gift cards. For more information on how to help, contact Valenta at (913) 724-2055.
