Chief wants uniform U.S. 24-40 speed limit

With fresh evidence of the danger and armed with a recommendation from Police Chief Jeff Brandau, Tonganoxie Mayor Jason Ward will write a letter officially requesting that the Kansas Department of Transportation lower the speed limit to 45 mph on U.S. Highway 24-40 on the city’s east side.
League of Women Voters invites legislators to speak

Salute to Veterans: (Caption under picture.) Art Miller raises the American flag at Maple Grove Cemetery Monday morning as he and other members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9271 put up more than 300 flags in and around Tonganoxie and at local cemeteries. The flags were also flown on Sunday.
