Johnny and Cora Moses left home Sept. 14 and stayed at a McPherson motel before traveling Sept. 15 to Hutchinson for the Kansas State Fair. They met their children Ester and Nathan Gardner and Mary and Nate and the children had rabbits to be judged. They won purple and blue ribbons. One rabbit weighed 12 pounds and was best of breed. The family all returned home the following weekend.
David and Gloria Schmalstieg of Springdale took their grandchildren, Lindsey Ewert, Brett and Jake Schmalstieg, to El Dorado Springs, Mo. Gloria’s sister and family recently moved to Missouri from Easton. Mark, Wanda, Dalton and Staci Tittle bought a farm down there. They returned home Sept. 11.
Florence Haling visited Evelyn Schwinn on Sept. 14.
Kirk Knapp was visiting his folks, Wayne and Anabel Knapp, on Sept. 20.
Little Aubrey Gillaspie spent Sept. 14 with great-grandmother Evelyn Schwinn.
On Sept. 18, Springdale Friends Church had a carry-in dinner followed with a couples shower for Rev. Rob Santel and Rebecca Armfield. They will be married Oct. 8 in Topeka.
Megan Lawrence, associate editor of Farm Talk, recently interviewed the Schwinn brothers on their farming operations and wrote a great article about them for the agricultural newspaper.
Wayne and Anabel Knapp received a letter from the Herb Fuqua family about the recent death of Grace Fuqua, who remarried Wes Thiesen, Wayne’s cousin.
